In the summer of 2012, I joined a group of volunteers partnering with the Red Sweater Project to build a school for children of the Maasai Tribe in Kenya’s Masai Mara. Our journey saw us through the Grasslands of the Serengeti to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Shot on expired film through a 1950s rangefinder, these photographs are fragments of that journey—grainy, imperfect, and deeply human.
